LOW VOLUME TRAINING HISTORY PART X – Jordan Peters (JP)

Jordan Peters, known as JP in the fitness world, has been a prominent figure carrying the flag for low volume training online and across social media. His raw intensity and dedication in the gym make him a compelling athlete to watch and learn from.

What makes JP’s training unique is that it is actually an amalgamation of many low volume principles we've covered in this series. He openly credits Dante Trudell’s Doggcrapp method (covered in Part IX) as a foundation for his programming. However, JP’s approach also incorporates elements from other training philosophies:

  • He alternates between full body splits like Arthur Jones recommended.

  • He uses upper/lower splits.

  • He also incorporates push/pull/legs routines.

A key focus of JP’s training is strength and progressive overload, with the goal to get as strong as possible across all rep ranges—from 3 reps to 30 reps. This versatility sets him apart and makes his programming effective for multiple training goals.

Interestingly, JP’s training is not always low volume. If you follow him on Instagram, you’ll notice many of his recent workouts feature mid to high volume, yet they maintain extremely high load, effort, and intensity. This level of work demands more effort and longer recovery but showcases his commitment to pushing limits.

Personally, JP is one of my favorite lifters to watch. His genuine character and approachability make him a standout in the fitness community. Watching his videos—whether it’s huge deadlifts or intense sessions—can easily fire you up before your own workout. Training alongside JP would be an inspiring experience because of his relentless intensity and work ethic.
