The last part of our trifecta, Consistency, Adherence and Routine. A consistent and dedicated routine makes meeting your goals so much easier. When you know what you’re doing and when you’re doing it, the rest falls into place much easier. If you don’t have a solid routine, stop and think about what to change in order to make it more consistent and how that can help you. Janusperformanceconsulting.com
Going hand-in-hand with the previous post about consistency, is adherence. Consistency makes adherence easier, adherence leads to progress. Constantly going off plan or deciding to change things leads to a lack of progress and too many athletes, then want to blame their coach or programming instead of looking in the mirror and saying maybe I actually didn’t do what I was supposed to and that’s what led me here. Choose the right coach, choose someone that you have confidence in so that adherence is easier, and you know that you will adhere to their plan, make progress, and become better. It’s your job as an athlete to follow the plan. Always ask questions about what’s going on and if you find yourself unwilling or unable to adhere, it’s time for a mature conversation Janusperformanceconsulting.com
Consistency is arguably the most crucial aspect of any fitness or even life goal. People fall short of both conservative and lofty life goals because they fail to be consistent in their approach. It’s simple but it’s not easy. That phrase sums up a huge portion of bodybuilding and powerlifting alike. Consistency is key. Janusperformanceconsulting.com
Very interesting story coming out of the world of tennis. Drugs are everywhere in professional sports whether you want to believe it or not. Also note that Sinner’s excuse was “unintentional contaminated substance” for a drug that no one makes and was accepted by WADA 😂 People always point a finger to bodybuilding, but the rest of the sports world it’s just as prevalent and much more sophisticated. This cold be only the tip of the iceberg on this and certainly something very intriguing afoot.
Clen has a fantastic use in the short term and not just in bodybuilding and powerlifting but in many other sports. Like many compounds, it is far from one dimensional. From our kitchen conversation in Vegas. Don’t forget to check out the full conversation on the member’s site.
Having goals in sports is crucial. Understanding what it will cost you to get there is a different conversation entirely. Not monetary cost, but the cost to your body, your orthopedic health, your personal relationships. As you progress in sports you may seek higher and higher goals (not just in barbell sports, but any athletic endeavor). But it is increasingly important to sit, reflect, and think about how far you will have to go to achieve them. That conversation is easy at 21, at 31 it’s very different as you and your life change and grow and as you age further your understanding grows. Truly understanding the cost earlier rather than later is an important part of maturing in your athletic endeavors.
Pat Casey is arguably the greatest powerlifter that is not well known by most today. It’s sad how athletes of today don’t respect the history of their sport and Pat Casey is a huge part of that. The first to bench over 600 and total over 2,000 all in the mid 1960’s! And he only weighed about 290. He was shockingly far ahead of his time. His bench accessory for helping his sticking point discussed here is also not used widely enough. Just ask @landri_liftsalot she just couldn’t get enough of them. Really it was all she wanted to do, I had to calm her down to focus on other things 😂 A wide and deep breadth of knowledge goes a long way to success and knowing your history never hurts. Following up on our discussion about uses of anadrol and superdrol in powerlifting, we then covered its uses in bodybuilding. Something that is often overlooked close to a bodybuilding show but may be invaluable for certain competitors. www.janusperformanceconsulting.com
Anadrol is so popular in powerlifting but so often misapplied, misunderstood, and overly relied on. We also talk about some of its more overlooked uses. Superdrol potentially even more so and even more often totally looked over for its more common counterpart. A great conversation from our time in Las Vegas. Work with me: evilcounsel@teamevilgsp.
Reverse grip bench is a movement few use and many ignore as simply a circus lift with little purpose. However it has a very real purpose in training especially for those with injury or mobility issues. It also has a really fascinating history that very few know about. Also, if you weren’t aware Anthony Clark was a massive 330lb at only around 5’8” if you ever want to hear about some of the barbarian brothers, incredible workouts reach out to Broderick @teamevilgsp who got it witness many in person
